=About the work=

These pieces are based on a motif of sushi, which is already very familiar to people all over the world.
I created these pieces imagining what it would be like if someone were to use the merpeople of myth and legend instead of the normal fish we know to create almost unimaginable, mysterious and unique sushi.
The pieces were created using blown glass techniques, created using heat and fire, the exact opposite of the water which one would normally imagine related to fish and the sea.
The pieces have the transparency and smooth textures unique to glass and the expressive qualities of the clay used in ceramics.
The unanticipated color combinations resulting from heat and chemical reactions were very interesting to me, and I used blown glass and borosilicate glass (heat resistant glass) for different motifs while still using only glass, and combined 2 or more different materials together to create this imaginary sushi and give it a more fantastical feel.
